It’s In The Air

It’s In The Air

I always thought that love was dead
At least that’s what I read
And I was told that romance was gone
That it had been gone for long

I thought that my life would stay the same
That love was nothing more than a child’s game
I believed that all that romance did was cause pain
And that this was never going to change
Love was like a fast-moving train
Running over you when you tried to jump on
The creature called romance was slain
And love was on the run

But then I met you
For the first time in my life I caught a glimpse
Of what love truly was
The feeling was brand new
And I’ve never felt the same way since
The feeling of what romance was

I takes real eyes to realize real lies
To know that truth never dies
To understand that those sleepless nights
And those meaningless plights
Will eventually be alright
Cause you will take flight
You’ll fly everywhere
Cause love is in the air

And then I realized
That you had opened up my eyes
To finally realize
The truth behind all those lies

And you had made a better man
You had made me who I am
And right here, right now I stand
Loving you whichever way I can

I takes real eyes to realize real lies
To know that truth never dies
To understand that those sleepless nights
And those meaningless plights
Will eventually be alright
Cause you will take flight
You’ll fly everywhere
Cause love is in the air

And now I know my life won’t stay the same
That love is something more than a game
It never had anything to do with pain
And this is never going to change
Love is like a slow boat cruise
On it only space enough for two
And Love is great yes its true
Cause in love I see you and only you

I takes real eyes to realize real lies
To know that truth never dies
To understand that those sleepless nights
And those meaningless plights
Will eventually be alright
Cause you will take flight
You’ll fly everywhere
Cause love is in the air

And now that I finally know the truth
I’m inclined to say its all thanks to you
I realise that love’s everywhere
Everyday of every passing year
And I know that of course love is here
It’s in the air

I am not who I say I am but who my writing says I am; my characters define me. Like puppets in a play, they tell you who pulls the strings. I'm not who I say I am; I'm who you think I am.
