A Poem A Day Poems

Fading Flowers

Fading flowers

Without their colour

With gentle touches and crumpled patches

They’ve lost their vigour

Fading flowers

Throughout the city

With business suits and high heel shoes

They look just like me

Empty shells

Laying on the beach

With lack of worry; they’re not sorry

The world belongs to these

Empty shells

On the street

Don’t you scare, don’t you fear

Just move your feet

Fading flowers

Just like me

Hands in the air, I don’t care

I want to be free

Hands in the air

I don’t care

I want to be me
