The Icognito Writer

Gentle Words

Gentle words

Like rain fall softly from your lips

Loving whispers

Float on thin air; an unseen kiss

Sweet nothings

Make such a glorious melody

Forgotten memories

Of what we could have been

Would it be true

If I didn’t let go

Would we be in love

I want to know

But now those gentle words

Belong to someone else

And I’m alone

All by myself

I am not who I say I am but who my writing says I am; my characters define me. Like puppets in a play, they tell you who pulls the strings. I'm not who I say I am; I'm who you think I am.
