Hello Soldier

Hello soldier from the war I heard you lost your leg there You were so full of life before Now your face reeks of fear

Hello soldier from the war

I heard you lost your leg there

You were so full of life before

Now your face reeks of fear

Hello child from the war

I heard you lost your mother now

You had a beautiful smile before

Now its naught but a perpetual frown

Hello sister from the grave

I heard you’re dead as it stands

You made one simple mistake

Now that one was your last

Hello father from the grave

Your wife is calling out to you

You were strong, you were brave

Now there ‘s nothing left of you

Hello soldier from the war

You are young, you are proud

You say you are different from those before

But your voice is a familiar sound
