Long Length My Literature Poems Tearful Tuesdays

When You’re Old Enough

Do not run yet my child

Do not stray from my reach

You are young, you are learning

So its my duty to teach

Do not run away from my lessons

They are filled with love

One day you’ll run far from here

When you’re old enough

Do not cry my child

Don’t let your tears hit the floor

Smile and be happy for now

Smile and worry no more

Do not fear my child

Run away from these thoughts

The world will show you fear

When you’re old enough

Smile and be happy my child

My work here is done

I want to hear your laughter

Before my time comes

You’ve got a child now; a son

Make sure he’s strong and tough

Teach him to rule the world

When he’s old enough

The Icognito Writer

I am not who I say I am but who my writing says I am; my characters define me. Like puppets in a play, they tell you who pulls the strings. I'm not who I say I am; I'm who you think I am.
