Goodbye

Yes you were right

And yes I was wrong

The same old tale

We’ve been here before

Day turns to night

The evening fades away

I hear your voice

Full of anger and dismay

And I start to think it’s time

What you said was true

Maybe I’ll never be enough

Not good enough for you

I don’t mean to impose

So I’ll just take my leave

And you can have your space

So that you can finally breathe

I’ll take my stuff and go

You won’t hear a peep

I just take my car

And that’ll be the last of me

I’ll cry on the road

Near a diner far from here

But you won’t even know

Not that you ever cared

I’ll walk on for miles

A bottle of whisky in hand

To drown out my sorrows

To become a different man

And one day you will find

The right man you were looking for

And although I won’t be there

He’ll be someone you adore

You’ll laugh and you’ll love

You’ll be happy at last

And soon you’ll forget

All about our past

But I’ll still be here

In a diner far away

Thinking of what I did

And what I could change

So goodbye and good luck

I’m sorry for wasting your time

I couldn’t capture your heart

Even though you captured mine

And if by chance we meet again

I’ll just walk on by

Cause you’ll be living high and mighty

While I’m dead on the inside

So goodbye and goodluck

Sorry for wasting your time

I couldn’t capture your heart

Even though you captured mine
